This species of Astrophytum is indigenous to Northern Mexico.

Special features

Astrophytum capricorne is rare in cultivation. It has attractive cream variegation covering most of the plant, giving it a ghostly appearance.

It is quite similar to Astrophytum myriostigma, but has long spines. Produces light yellow flowers intermittently during the warmer months of the year.

Care Guide

Astrophytum are not difficult to care for. This genus prefers light shade, but can be acclimatized to full sun. Plant Astrophytum capricorne in a gritty soil mix that drains freely. Water it well in spring and summer, but keep dry in autumn and winter so that it can have a rest period.
