Where it grows
The natural, non-variegated form of Cotyledon orbiculata is widespread throughout the Karoo region of South Africa.
Special features
The variegated form of Cotyledon orbiculata v. flanaganii has gray-green leaves and are tinged with yellow variegation. The leaves a somewhat powdery surface and are tipped in red.
Care guide
This plant prefers plenty of light, and should be kept under no higher than 40% shade cloth. It is not fussy about its soil mix, as long as it contains plenty of organic material and drains well. Water it throughout the year, making sure that the soil dries out before watering again. Reduce the amount of water during winter.
