Where it grows
Echeveria ‘Rainbow’ is a horticultural cultivar and does not occur naturally.
Special features
Echeveria ‘Rainbow’ is the rare, sought after variegated form of Echeveria ‘Perle Von NΓΌrnberg’, which is a hybrid of E. gibbiflora and E. elegans. ‘Rainbow’ has a bright pink center that changes to cream and blue-green in the lower leaves. The colours can vary with the seasons. Do note that the variegation is unstable in this cultivar and there is no guarantee that it will remain in the new growth.
Care guide
This easy growing Echeveria likes a well drained mix. They prefer full morning sun to semi-shade and grow well under 40% shade cloth. More light tends to enhance the pink colours. Water well in the growing season. Avoid leaving water in the rosettes for too long as it causes rot and fungal issues.
Growing season
Summer grower.
Propagation
This plant can be propagated by cuttings or leaves, though leaf propagations tend to produce non-variegated plants.
