This dark-green, globular cactus has attractively shaped fissures in the stem, giving it a geometric appearance. Produces bright red flowers.
Care Guide
Matucana should be kept under 40% shade cloth. It is rather fussy about its soil requirements, and should be kept in a gritty mix that includes Ibaraki Akadama and Hyuga Pumice. Water often in the growing season, but keep it dry in winter. Make sure the soil dries completely before watering again.
