At Living Desert Plants, we strive to offer excellent customer service and quality plants. We offer a variety of different shipping methods when you place your order online, and we can ship anywhere in South Africa. Please note there is a R300 minimum order.
Payment
We accept payments with either PayFast or EFT. If using EFT please make the payment promptly and send us proof of payment.
How to order
Please make sure to follow all the below steps to place your order. If you do not complete all the steps, your order will not go through.
- Click ‘Add to Cart’ for the plants you want to purchase
- Click ‘Checkout’ on the top right of your screen, or click ‘Cart’ to modify your order
- On the Checkout Page:
- Enter your shipping address
- Select your preferred shipping method, either to your door delivery with The Courier Guy, or delivery to your nearest locker with PUDO
- Choose your payment method, either PayFast (card payment) or Direct EFT
- Lastly, click Place Order to finalize your order.
Our packaging process
In order to ensure the safety of your plants, we do not send plants with pots or soil. Shipping plants ‘bare root’ prevents damage in transit in case the courier service is not gentle with your parcel. Pots and soil shown with the plants on our website are for display purposes only.
Your plants will be carefully wrapped and placed in securely in a box with plenty of plant and eco-friendly packaging material.
Please note that there will be some soil left on the roots to make sure that the plants remain healthy in transit and so that they will acclimatize in their new home quickly. We do not wash roots for local shipment.
We only send out orders on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to prevent your plants from getting stuck in a warehouse over the weekend.
Courier Services offered
- The Courier Guy Economy
- This courier service will deliver straight to your door for R155.
- This is the fastest and most reliable courier service in South Africa. Once your parcel is shipped, you can expect delivery in 1-2 days for main centers and 3-4 days for outlying areas.
- PUDO
- This courier service is a subsidiary of The Courier Guy, and will deliver to the nearest PUDO Locker for R120.
- Please indicate which PUDO Locker location you prefer during checkout, otherwise we will send to the locker closest to your billing address.
Collecting your order from the nursery
You are welcome to collect your order from the nursery in Stellenbosch.

International ordering
Living Desert Plants can send plants internationally with DHL or Mailwise. Phytosanitary certificates are included. The recipient will need an import permit (some countries like Japan have different rules). Payments are accepted via Wise or PayFast only, we do not accept PayPal.
