Gasteria liliputana forms miniature, stemless rosettes covered in dense, white, raised tubercles. Origin and Natural Habitat
This species occurs naturally in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It occupies shaded, rocky crevices where it avoids direct, intense sunlight. These protected niches provide consistent airflow and mineral-rich pockets of soil that prevent root competition.
Plant Characteristics
The rosettes reach 5 cm to 8 cm in diameter. Leaves grow in two ranks initially, spiraling into a compact cluster as the plant matures. Dark green foliage contrasts with white, spot-like tubercles covering the surface. Small, tubular, pink-and-green flowers appear on tall, unbranched stalks during the spring.
