Where it grows
Pachypodium brevicaule is native to Madagascar.
Special features
Pachypodium brevicaule has a thick, potato-like caudex with several short sub-branches that grow from the main stem. The stem is covered in soft, short spines, and is tipped dark-green leaves.
Yellow flowers form during late summer.
Care Guide
This caudiciform succulent prefers full morning sun. If it has been grown in shade as a seedling, adjust it carefully to more light. It needs a soil mix that drains exceptionally well, as it is sensitive to overwatering. Only water in spring and summer, as this plant requires a rest period with no water during winter dormancy.
