Where it grows
Aristaloe aristata occupies a wide variety of habitats in both South Africa and Lesotho.
Special features
Also known as the ‘lace Aloe’ or ‘guinea fowl Aloe’. This species has small, hair-like filaments on the leaf tips, and diminutive teeth covering the leaf surfaces. It is generally dark green in colour, but this particular specimen is variegated.
Care Guide
This species prefers some protection from the sun, and should be kept under 40-60% shade cloth. It needs a well draining soil medium with a good amount of both organic components like coco peat, and inorganic, gritty components like pumice and akadama. Water well throughout the year, but make sure that its soil dries out between each round of watering.
