Where it grows
Pachyphytum compactum is native to Mexico.
Special features
Also known as the ‘Little Jewel’ succulent. This plant has beautiful leaves resembling green jewels. The crested form is quite rare and grows into large, compact clumps.
Care Guide
This species is relatively light-sensitive and burns easily in too much sun. It should be kept under at least 60% shade cloth. The soil medium should be well draining, and preferably include both organic material and gritty components. Water well in summer, taking care not to water on top of the plant, as water may get stuck on the crested stems and cause rot. Give it much less water during the cooler months.

Spring and summer.
