Where it grows
Haemanthus albiflos is native to South Africa.
Special features
This special form of Haemanthus albiflos has bright yellow variegation on its leaf edges. The leaves are generally light green in the centers. The bulbs should be planted somewhat above the ground for better appearance.
Care Guide
Haemanthus can be tricky to look after properly. This plant should be kept in shade or semi-shade at most, with 60% shade cloth being ideal. It requires a soil mix that drains well, but has plenty of nutrition, so make sure to fertilize it. Water well throughout the year, but make sure the soil dries out between watering.
Growing season
This species grows throughout the year, but does slow down a bit during the peak of summer and winter.
Propagation
The bulbs produce offsets which can be removed once they are approximately half the size of the original bulb.
